Specialized Instruction Outside the GenEd Classroom

There may be times when a student needs targeted, specially designed instruction outside the general education classroom to master the skills outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives.

Specially Designed Instruction is specific to the students disability needs and targets the students deficit by bridging the gap between where the student currently functions and the grade level standards.

Data is collected on an ongoing, consistent basis to keep record of progress being made toward mastery of IEP goals and to determine if the instruction is yielding the intended results.

This instruction is not intended to replace the instruction of the grade level standards.
