Collaborative-teaching (co-teaching) is an instructional arrangement where two or more certified professionals share the responsibility of:

  • lesson planning (incorporating one or more of the 4 highly effective co-teach models)
  • instructing (using the planned co-teach model(s))
  • monitoring student progress (through a balanced assessment system)
  • adjusting the delivery of instruction based on students' needs/progress
  • providing differentiated instruction, interventions, and enrichment
  • collecting academic and behavioral data to meet individual student needs for all students.
